Go Kart

Go Kart

A go-kart is a type of sports car, open-wheel car, close wheeled car, or quadracycle. Go-karts come in all forms, from non-motorized models to high-performance karts used for racing.

Besides traditional kart racing, various commercial enterprises offer karts for rent, often called “concession” or “recreational” karts. Karts are rented by sessions (usually for 10 to 30 minutes) or on a day basis. Most of these companies use an “Arrive and Drive” format which provides customers with all the safety gear (driver outfits, helmets, and gloves) necessary, and allow them to race at a reasonable price.

Outdoor tracks can also offer low-speed karts for amusement or faster, more powerful karts, similar to the racing karts, powered by four-stroke engines up to 15 hp (11 KW) and sometimes by 2-stroke engines; designed to be more robust for rental use. Outdoor tracks are usually used for traditional kart races.
