Hot Air Balloon

Hot Air Balloon

Hot air ballooning in India is something that you can enjoy with your entire family or with that special someone in your life. It is a good way to see beautiful landscapes from a substantial height, without spending loads like you do when booking airline tickets. On television, you must have seen colorful balloons, and some even in unique shapes, flying above the ground. You too can indulge in this activity as arrangements for the same are made at various places in the country. This engagement is perfect for a laid-back evening, when you just want some time off from your hectic life. The balloon is made of synthetic fabric, and a basket is attached to it by the means of ropes. Coatings of chemical are applied on its surface to prevent air from passing through it. Liquefied propane is contained in metal tanks, and is fed into burners by opening inlet nozzles. These tanks may also have gauges to measure the volume and pressure of the contents. As the gas is lit, the increasing temperature results in lift, and the whole structure starts flying.

The hot air balloon is the most successful and oldest transport to hold humans in the flight industry. Hot air balloon drift with the direction of the wind and not propelled.

Hot air is stored under the hot air balloon in a bag called the “envelope”. Below the envelope is a gondola or wicker basket. The heated air inside the envelope makes it buoyant since it has a lower density than the relatively cold air outside the envelope. A hot air balloon for manned flight uses a single-layered, fabric gas bag, with an opening at the bottom called the mouth or throat.

Attached to the envelope is a basket, or gondola, for carrying the passengers. Humans have always foreseen flight as a possibility from the observation of birds, but it has taken thousands of years to achieve this ambition. Over these thousands of years flight has continued to advance with technology and hot air balloons is an example of this. The working of a hot air balloon is simple. It is made up of a balloon-shaped envelope in which you fill hot air. Since air will rise when it is heated, the balloon with the air inside is lifted, giving it an upward thrust. The balloon itself is made up of a nylon material with a heat resistant material at the mouth where the burner is. The liquid propane fuel is stored in cylinders in the wicker basket below. We use wicker because it is light enough to not be excess weight, yet sturdy enough to hold the weight of the passengers.
